The Newborn 189D Drip-Free Super Ratchet Rod Cradle caulking gun features a steel half-barrel frame designed to accommodate 1/10-gal. cartridges. With a 6:1 thrust ratio, this gun is ideal for use with medium viscosity materials like silicone. The ratchet-style pressure rod includes teeth that securely hold the rod in place after each trigger pull, minimizing drips especially for thinner materials. Additionally, the rod retracts after each trigger pull, relieving pressure from the tube and further helping to prevent dripping. There is a welded plate located in the back of the gun to secure the cartridge in place. The gun also includes a hook on the back for convenient hanging on a ladder, as well as a seal puncture tool and spout cutter built into the side for easy opening of cartridges without requiring a knife.
